Over the next ten years we plan to release 15 different
endangered species to Rotoroa Island, including takahe, kiwi,
tuatara and weta punga. Kiwi chick releases are during breeding
season which usually runs from August to April - and we'd love for
you to be a part of these special events. Make sure you stay up to
date with all our upcoming releases by following us on Facebook.
Rotoroa Island offers a small number of public and corporate
volunteer days each year. Whether you're looking to organise a
productive and unique team bonding event for your colleagues, or
you want to spend some quality time providing some much needed
assistance at an emerging wildlife sanctuary, there are a number of
ways to help out on Rotoroa Island.
